Chobe National Park, Botswana

Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana covering 10,566km². It is said to have one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. The park is divided into four distinctly different eco systems: Serondela, the Savuti Marsh, the Linyanti Swamps. The original inhabitants are the San people, otherwise known as the Basarwa.

 

One of the biggest tourist attraction is Chobe National Park is the elephant populations. It is said that the Chobe elephant is the largest surviving continuos elephant population. Wildlife in Chobe is plentiful. Take your note book with and start checking of: giraffe, elephant, zebra, impala, tsessebe, roan, sable, wildebeest, kudu, buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, eland, lion, hyaena, jackal, bat-eared fox, cheetah and wild dog.

 

Various activities can be done such as safari walks, wildlife game drives and game viewing on a boat trip on the Chobe River. The safari lodges accommodations are beautiful with great service and very friendly staff.
