Caprivi, Namibia

Mahango and LianshuluThe Caprivi is a narrow strip of land to the far northeast of Namibia, extending for about 400 kilometres. The Caprivi is border by Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. There are three game parks in the Caprivi region namely, the Caprivi Game Park, Mamili National Park and Mudumu National Park. Mamili National Park is Namibia's equivalent to the Okavango Delta, watery wonderlands of rich wildlife, wetlands and rivers with two large islands, Nkasa and Lupala. Caprivi Game Park and Mudumu National Park generally consist of dense savannah and woodlands.

The Caprivi is a gateway to Victoria Falls with the option of an easy access to the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park in Botswana. Wildlife in the Caprivi Strip is plentiful and include rare sitatunga and red lechwe as well as buffalo, elephant, zebra, antelopes, hippo and crocodiles. Although access can be quite limited depending on the seasons, there is much to do and see. Wildlife safaris or game drives be vehicle, boat and even air are options. There are a number of luxury African safari lodges in or close to the game parks and national reserves.
